Firefox 4 Beta 6 Renamed to Beta 7According to Mozilla’s Developer Center, company will issue a minor update to Beta 5 sometime this week, which will fix stability bug on Windows systems as well as OSX rendering and keyboard/mouse focus issues.

As a result of this update, upcoming Beta 6 release will be renamed to Beta 7 and it set for the second half of September release.

Google Integrates Instant into Chrome

It looks like Google continues pushing its Instant search feature forward. The latest Google Chrome Canary build now includes an option to enable Instant via command line by using “–enable-match-preview” tag.

How to enable (Windows):
Right click on “Google Chrome Canary Build” shortcut > Properties > Shortcut tab
Copy/Paste “–enable-match-preview” at the end of “Target” field

"C:\Users\Vygantas\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe" --enable-match-preview

Launch Chrome.

No Firefox 4 64 Bit for YouEven though 64 bit operating systems are becoming a standard in today’s computing world, Mozilla’s Director of Firefox (Mike Beltzner) revealed that company has no plans to release 64 bit Firefox 4 final build in the near future.

Early in the summer we decided to not yet provide supported 64-bit builds on Windows, and will instead work on delivering those in some future release.

If only we had a 64-bit Flash Player build for all the platforms…

3. Scroll down to find “Multimedia” section

Firefox 4 Beta 5 Released

As Firefox 4 Final nears its release, Mozilla released the fifth beta of its Firefox 4 web browser.

One of the key features in this version is a support for Direct2D hardware acceleration on Windows 7 machines that is now enabled by default.

Furthermore, Beta 5 introduces audio API which uses HTML5 (see video below), implementation of the HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) as well as hundreds of bug fixes and other improvements.

Opera Mini 5.1 for Windows MobileHere comes another release from Opera, as company has just announced the availability of Opera Mini 5.1 for Windows Phone 6.5, Windows Mobile 6, Windows Mobile 5, and Windows Mobile 2003 devices.

Why should you use Opera Mini instead of Opera Mobile? Well, it depends on your handset and your personal preference.

It’s a nice release with its advantages and disadvantages, when compared to Opera Mobile 10. One of such advantages is a “working” “Back” button, click on it and you are instantly surfing the previous page, while in Opera Mobile 10, it takes you back and then reloads the very same page (at least on my device). On the other hand, Opera Mini 5.1 UI appeared to be a little bit sluggish sometimes.

Enable Google Instant Search in Opera

Here is a simple guide on how to get Google Instant Search to work on Opera.

1. Open Google.com
2. Right Click > Edit Site Preferences
3. Select “Network” tab, find “Browser identification” option and choose “Identify as Firefox”
4. That’s it!

P.S. Be sure to enable Instant (as seen in picture above).
