Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 Released

Opera Software has just released the final versions of Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 web browsers.
Both builds have gone through a lot of changes since previous release; received a major make over and new features, such as: wands, tabbed browsing, download manager and Opera link.
As for Opera Mini, team recommends running it on devices with a 320 x 240 or higher display resolution.

February, 2010 – Google Chrome, Opera Mini Share Goes Up; Firefox, Safari, Opera – Down

Time to check February browser market share results.
Internet Explorer continues its downfall saga; as market share fell from 62.12% to 61.58% (0.54 points decrease).
For a fourth month in a row, Firefox is losing its market share as well. This time it has decreased by 0.2 points, moving down from 24.43% to 24.23%.
Another month, another gain for Chrome. In February, this browser market share increased by 0.39 points, as it went up from 5.22% to 5.61%. Read more

Apple Calls Opera Software, Talks about Opera Mini

According to Norwegian news page digi.no, due to growing interest in Opera Mini for the iPhone, Apple has called Opera Software to discuss about the possible partnership between these two companies.
Although no more details were revealed, Håkon Wium Lie (Opera’s Chief Technology Officer) feels confident, that Opera Mini will be approved.
When asked about the possible pricing, he said: We have not decided yet. Typically, the way that you download and use Opera for free (*translated*).

An important milestone has been reached in Opera Software headquarters, as company announced that they have passed 50 million active users mark.

“Our original goal with Opera Mini was to make the Web available to everyone, regardless of their network or mobile phone. Fifty million active monthly users is a great start,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software.
