Opera Mini 5.1 Final for Android Released

After releasing the final version of Opera Mini 5.1 for a bunch of Java supporting phones and BlackBerry devices, Opera Software has just finalized its Android and made it available for you to download.
One of the new features in version 5.1 is improved rendering for high-resolution devices, such as HTC EVO 4G or Motorola Droid X.
They also have improved kinetic scrolling and added ability to set Opera Mini as your default web browser.
Opera and MegaFon Signs a Mobile Internet Deal

In yesterday’s press release, Opera Software and Russian mobile operator MegaFon, has announced a new partnership, under which MegaFon’s “Unlimited Internet with Opera Mini” package will be made available to all Russian territories (that’s more than 53 million mobile subscribers total).
Back in September 2009, MegaFon signed a similar deal that provided unlimited mobile web access to Moscow region only.

May, 2010 – Internet Explorer, Firefox Share Goes Down; Chrome, Opera and Safari – Up

Another month, another market report. Let’s begin.
Internet Explorer market share fell down by 0.26 point, from 59.95% to 59.69%.
Firefox still struggles to reach 25% market share, this time it went down from 24.59% to 24.35% (0.24 point decrease).
Not a big surprise here, Chrome managed to increase its market share by another 0.32 point, up from 6.73% to 7.05%. Read more

Opera Mini for iPhone: 2.6 Million Users

It appears that Opera Mini for the iPhone is doing really well.
According to the Opera’s most recent “State of the Mobile Web” report, browser is already more than 2.6 million unique users.
That makes Apple iPhone the 3rd most popular device running Opera Mini.

Additionally, company has reported a 6.6% users increase from March 2010, with a total user count of over 58.9 million.

It’s time to find out, how ballot screen affected web browsers growth and/or decline. Lets begin.
After continuous Internet Explorer downtrend, Microsoft web browser has finally felt below 60% market share mark, from 60.65% to 59.95% (0.7 point decrease).
Firefox is slowly trying to reach 25% market share mark, this time its share increased by 0.07 point, from 24.52% to 24.59%. Read more
