HBO.com Is Blacklisted On Windows RT
Another stone in the garden.
Recently, we have reported about the changes in Microsoft’s IE for Modern UI blacklists where only specific sites won’t run Flash by default.
Well, it looks like HBO.com, one of the best known content providers around, is one of such sites that won’t run on Windows RT. As it turns out, IE10 for Windows 8 blacklist has 3 sites: briggs-riley.com, webassign.net and webinato.com while the RT version includes a total of 12, HBO and Twit being two of them.
However, while Twit.tv will work on their HTML5 based site, users browsing HBO on Windows RT will see the following message:

SurfCube 3D, Now With Windows Phone 8 Support
As more and more developers optimize their apps for the HD resolution displays, SurfCube 3D did too receive an update, bumping its version number to v4.5.
If you can get around the awkward interface, SurfCube 3D will offer you a couple of features that are currently missing in the mobile version of Internet Explorer 10, such as: orientation lock and ability to open links in the background. However, we are pretty confident that the developer is mostly targeting WP7 users as they lack some of the more important features like bandwidth saver mode and a proper tab management.

Browsers: BlackBerry 10 vs. Windows Phone 8 (HTC 8X) vs. iPhone 5
With both platforms fighting for the third position in the mobile operating system wars, guys from the GadgetMasters made a brief comparison of Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10 web browsers.
If you don’t feel like watching the video, BB10 won in pretty much everything, including the HTML5 test as it scored 485 points compared to Internet Explorer’s 320.

Internet Explorer 10 For Windows Phone 8 Updated
Nothing too exciting.
With releasing the very first update for its WP8 platform (Build 8.0.10211.204), Microsoft has also included a couple of minor new features for the IE10.
First in the list is an ability to delete specific sites from your web browsing history. Lastly, Internet Explorer 10 users can now prevent pictures from downloading automatically, which will surely help them to squeeze more days out of their data plan.

Concept: Opera Mobile For Windows Phone 8
Makes you want more.
Earlier this year we talked about the Google Chrome web browser running on Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system. Now, guys at PocketPC made another render but this time it’s Opera.
Interestingly enough, it has some neat ideas, such as: dynamically updated live tiles (see video below for a cheesy demo) with news from Opera’s portal, speed dial thumbnbails that match those of WP8 start screen and more.

Microsoft Prepares To Launch Xbox SmartGlass (Video)

Following the recent dashboard update, Microsoft has reportedly launched Xbox SmartGlass slightly ahead its Windows 8 launch schedule.
With multiple users already reporting a fully functional feature set, the software giant has also issued a video walkthrough, which shows a software engineer using Xbox SmartGlass to get relevant TV Shows data and most importantly, surf the web with the help of Samsung’s upcoming Ativ S Windows Phone.

Nokia Releases A Data Compression / Web Browser App

Interestingly enough, the struggling handset manufacturer has released the Xpress Beta app, which not only uses its own rendering engine (unlike other Windows Phone browsers) but also compresses data, just like Opera Mobile.
