Block Visitors That Block Ads?
As webmasters try to do their best to achieve the profit targets they desire, thanks to ad blockers in pretty much every web browser, it’s not as easy as some might think.
Well, it looks like at least one web site has found a so called “solution”: block visitors that bring no revenue.
See the picture above? That’s what happens when you visit dollarade.com partners web site and have NoScript/AdBlock installed.
While it does not look like a good idea to me, I am not the one paying that site’s server bills.
Mozilla, Graphics Group Seek to Build 3D Web

“Wish you could play Crysis in your Web browser? Two influential organizations are banding together to try to bring accelerated 3D graphics to the Web, a move that eventually could improve online games and other Web applications.
The Web is gradually becoming a better foundation for applications with splashy, sophisticated interfaces, but 3D graphics on the Web remain primitive. Now, though, Mozilla, the group behind the Firefox browser, and Khronos, the consortium that oversees the widely used OpenGL graphics interface technology, are trying to jointly create a standard for accelerated 3D graphics on the Web.”

Mobile Web Browsers Compatibility Test
Just after Safari and Opera scored 100 in the Acid3 test, W3.org released its own. However, this is not the Acid, although it’s similar to it and tests 12 web technologies. This one will test mobile web browsers… Is this yet another race beginning?
W3.org tried to run it on Blazer 4.3.2.1, Opera Mini 4.1 Beta 1, PSP’s Netfront, Firefox 3 Beta 3, Internet Explorer 6 and “Android emulator webkit-based browser”. Continue Reading

2007 December Browsers Market Share Results
It’s time for the December, 2007 web browsers market share report. See November stats here.
As you will see in this graph, there are some noticeable changes for the Opera web browsers. Not sure why, but both of them (Opera and Opera Mini) got slightly different values than they should. It’s the second month, so not sure if it’s a bug. However, we have keep going and post what we know.
Yet another bad month for the Internet Explorer. This time it felt from 77.35% to 76.04% (1.31% decrease).
Firefox market share continues growing and might reach 20% very soon, they have increased its market share by 0.79%: from 16.01% to 16.80%. Continue Reading
