Well, here is something to get you going. According to the latest rumor from TNW, Opera Software is looking for a potential buyer, ranging from Yandex, Google (we don’t see the deal being approved by the EU) and most importantly, Facebook.
Having already acquired Instagram for a cool $1 billion, Facebook’s next target might indeed be Opera, which, depending on its future plans (dumbing down + social integration), will upset a lot of Opera’s loyal users.

Opera Software Q1 2012 Financial Results
Just today, Opera Software has released its first quarter results for this year and as seen in the slides below, the following year was quite good for the Norwegian browser maker.
Financial Highlights
– Total revenue (MUSD): 46.9 (1Q12) vs. 36.7 (1Q11)
– Opera Mini users: 31.1 million in March 2012, vs. 13.6m in March 2011, up 129%
– 168.8m users of Opera Mini in March
– 270 million+ people using Opera browsers every month
– Mobile Consumer revenue up 253%+ in 1Q12 vs. 1Q11
– Mobile Publishers & Advertisers revenue up 303% in 1Q12 vs. 1Q11

Opera Submits Other People Apps Without Permission
As spotted by Engadget, Handster, the Opera Software owned app store, has decided to go ahead and submit its competitor’s web browser, Dolphin HD, to the BlackBerry’s App World. The worst part?
According to MoboTap, a company behind Dolphin HD, they had no idea that their web browser was available in the BlackBerry’s App World. In addition to that, they never authorized such submission and are currently working to fix the mess, which was caused by Handster.

Download Opera Mobile 12 And Opera Mini Next
With the release of Google Chrome web browser for Android, it looks like Opera has been cooking a couple of surprises of their own.
First in the list is Opera Mobile 12, which has a plateau of new features, including a Ragnarök HTML5 parser that should improve the overall sites compatibility and bring better web apps to the table. Over 1000 Opera Extensions
Slightly more than a year after announcing extensions, Opera’s add-ons directory has just surpassed the 1000 mark and is slowly edging towards the next milestone.

Opera Buys Handster
Today, Opera Software has announced the acquisition of Handster, an independent Android content library, which also offers developer tools, services to mobile operators as well as device manufacturers and other app stores.
According to the press release, Handster supports a variety of platforms, including: Google Android, Java, Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, netbook, tablet applications and has customers from such device manufacturers as MTS, Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei and LG.
