Firefox Home App Approved by Apple

Few weeks ago, Mozilla has submitted Firefox Home to Apple’s App Store and today, it was finally approved.

Here is how to get started (as from blog.mozilla.com):

– Install Firefox Sync, a free add-on for Firefox, on your desktop.
– Restart Firefox and follow prompts to create an account with both a password and a secret phrase.
– Go the App Store on your iPhone and search for “Firefox Home” or install it directly from iTunes.
– Launch Firefox Home on your iPhone. You’ll be prompted to enter your Firefox Sync account info. Enter your username, password and Secret Phrase and tap “Done.”
– Enjoy!

Opera Mini 5.1 Final for Android ReleasedAfter releasing the final version of Opera Mini 5.1 for a bunch of Java supporting phones and BlackBerry devices, Opera Software has just finalized its Android and made it available for you to download.

One of the new features in version 5.1 is improved rendering for high-resolution devices, such as HTC EVO 4G or Motorola Droid X.

They also have improved kinetic scrolling and added ability to set Opera Mini as your default web browser.

Opera Mini 5.1 Now Available

Opera Mini 5.1 Now Available

Opera Software has released a new stable version of Opera Mini web browser that is 5.1.

This updated is mostly targeted at low end devices that have a screen resolution lower than 200 pixels or low memory capacity (4 MB+-).

Basically, if your phone does not meet mentioned requirements, Opera Mini will automatically switch to a new skin that lowers memory footprint. Therefore, enhancing user experience and reducing a number of “out of memory” error messages.

In addition, Opera Mini team has also added a new a keypad shortcut that allows you switching from/to Mobile View (*0).

YouTube HTML5 Powered Mobile Website Is Here

It looks like Google has officially announced the refresh of YouTube mobile website. Android and iPhone users will be redirected to new page upon visiting it.

Updated site takes the advantage of HTML5 features, such as video tag. Furthermore, it brings search suggestions, improved video quality, ability to create playlists and like/dislike video buttons.

HTC HD2 “Unable to Initialize Camera” Error Fix

HTC HD2 Now, if you are receiving “Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device” error on your HTC device (possibly any other Windows Mobile phone) and had no luck with soft reset, try the following:

Open task manager and make sure that Opera Mobile is not running, and close if it is. Now, I am not sure why it’s impossible to take pictures or record videos while you surf the net with Opera Mobile (as it makes very little sense), but here you have it, a quick and painless fix.
