Today Opera Labs introduced a new technology called Opera Fingertouch. As you might already guess from its name, it is a touch based technology.

As reported yesterday, Firefox 3.0x branch security and stability update 3.0.7 has been released and can be downloaded here.
Firefox 3.0.7 includes 3 new languages: Estonian, Kannada, and Telugu as well as various fixes.

The upcoming Firefox release (Shiretoko) which is currently in development will be released as Firefox 3.5 instead of the planed 3.1. It should be noted, that Firefox Beta 3 which is going to be released within 5 days will still have 3.1 tag.
According to the meeting notes, the following decision was made due to many changes, or as it says “3.1 -> 3.5 to indicate increased scope”

“The European Commission will scale back its oversight of Microsoft’s documentation efforts, says a statement which makes some surprising concessions.”
“The 2004 Statement of Objections is a separate affair from the Statement issued in January, which concerns the EC’s objections to Microsoft continuing to bundle Internet Explorer with Windows.”
The third and long awaited beta of Firefox 3.1 series will be released on March 10th.
As for Firefox 3.0.7 security and stability update, it’s coming tomorrow.
The latest Windows 7 Build 7048 offers a pleasant (and not announced) change. You can now actually remove Internet Explorer 8 from Windows.
To uninstall Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7
Go to Control Panel
Click Turn Windows features on or off

TechCrunch is reporting that the upcoming version of social browser Flock will be built on Google’s Chrome platform.
Why they are dumping Mozilla’s Firefox? While there are no official statements on this decision, TechCrunch writes:
“Sources say that they’ve become frustrated with Mozilla’s lack of attention to Flock’s needs. One source says Flock felt like the “red headed step child of the Mozilla development community.” Sources are also saying that Flock feels that Google Chrome is far easier to work with than Firefox.” Continue Reading
