Skyfire Submitted to Apple’s App Store

Just as expected, Skyfire Team has submitted their mobile web browser into Apple’s App store and is awaiting approval.
If Apple approves the app, Skyfire would allow iPhone/iPad users to enjoy Flash content that is being transcoded into HTML5 via company servers.
According to press release, Skyfire Team followed Apple guidelines, including the use of a WebKit browser core shared with Safari, and h.264 adaptive streaming.

Firefox Home App Approved by Apple

Few weeks ago, Mozilla has submitted Firefox Home to Apple’s App Store and today, it was finally approved.
Here is how to get started (as from blog.mozilla.com):
- Install Firefox Sync, a free add-on for Firefox, on your desktop.
- Restart Firefox and follow prompts to create an account with both a password and a secret phrase.
- Go the App Store on your iPhone and search for “Firefox Home” or install it directly from iTunes.
- Launch Firefox Home on your iPhone. You’ll be prompted to enter your Firefox Sync account info. Enter your username, password and Secret Phrase and tap “Done.”
- Enjoy!

It looks like Mozilla has finally finished Firefox Home application and submitted it to Apple’s App Store. Pricing was revealed as well: it’s totally free.
As we wrote earlier, Firefox Home is a simple iPhone application (based on Weave Sync), that allows iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad users to access their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and tabs from their most recent browsing session.

Opera Mini for iPhone: 2.6 Million Users

It appears that Opera Mini for the iPhone is doing really well.
According to the Opera’s most recent “State of the Mobile Web” report, browser is already more than 2.6 million unique users.
That makes Apple iPhone the 3rd most popular device running Opera Mini.

Additionally, company has reported a 6.6% users increase from March 2010, with a total user count of over 58.9 million.
Synchronize Between Firefox and iPhone with Firefox Home

Mozilla has recently announced an upcoming project that is “Firefox Home”.
What is it?
Firefox Home is a simple iPhone application (based on Weave Sync), that allows iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad users to access their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and tabs from their most recent browsing session.

Jeff Glueck, the CEO of Skyfire congratulated Opera team and dropped a hint about the upcoming Skyfire for iPhone release:
“Everyone at Skyfire was heartened by this decision by Apple, to open up their platform and believe this sets a solid precedent for additional innovation in mobile browsing from other companies.
