Safari AutoFill Security Issue Appears, Again

By | October 1, 2010

Oh boy, here we go again…

Remember our early reported AutoFill security issue? Well, it looks like browser vulnerability was not properly patched, as your data can still be stolen.

Since it affects Safari 4 and 5 web browsers (including 5.0.5), here is a temporary fix:

Go to Preferences > AutoFill > AutoFill web forms and uncheck “Using info from my Address Book card”.

When an IE have a problem people scream .. but it is ok for safari .. ~facepalm~
so this problem is in both Mac and Windows ?
btw is Safari available for Ubuntu ?

    • Armin says:

Safari is not officially available for Ubuntu as far as I am aware but if you play around enough, you can get it to work. Also, Internet Explorer unfortunately has an approximate market share of 53.57% whereas Safari only manages a 4.03% market share. People will scream with regards to the former but not many will care about the latter.
