The numbers are here. After 24 hours, Firefox 3 was downloaded 8 290 908 times. That’s what I call a good marketing campaign which requires no or very less cash. Who can now complain with the phrase like “we don’t have a lot of money for big marketing campaign?” Anyone could have done that, but Firefox team members are geniuses and did that first.
It’s not clear yet if this record will be added to the Guinness book, waiting for approval.
As promised by Firefox team, its newest version was just released. There were a lot of pleasant changes since Firefox 2. Gecko 1.9 (web rendering platform on which Firefox 3 is based) received more than 14 000 updates, as a result: its performance as well as stability was improved. Most important, memory usage was reduced and a lot of memory leaks were fixed.
Firefox 3 also includes various security updates, malware Protection, upgraded download manager, plugin management, platform integration (new look), and much more. Continue Reading
3rd article today which says that Firefox 3 was released, though Mozilla’s page still got old version there…
That’s what happens when you provide exact time and bloggers set an auto post in order to be the first ones who says that…

As for now: Opera released their browser too early and Firefox too late… What’s next?

2. Close Opera
3. Open speeddial.ini which is in Opera directory.
4. Play with rows and columns settings; add as many as you like. Continue Reading

He has been an active member of the Mozilla community since 1998. Dotzler joined the Mozilla organization, and has played a key role in delivering products including the release of Mozilla 1.0, Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail and usenet client.
And now, the interview
With the Firefox 3 release just around the corner I’ve decided to bother Asa Dotzler a bit and ask few questions about Firefox and other web browsers.
For a first question, let’s go back to the old times…
1. Why name it “fox”? Continue Reading
Some time ago we’ve posted about few upcoming Firefox 3.1 features.
Good news, there are more details about them. According to Mozilla Links post, visual tab switching (CTRL+Tab) and tab searching/filtering will be also added to Firefox 3.1 release.

I am really happy to announce that FavBrowser.com is officially one year old now. Happy birthday!
FavBrowser.com was started on June 13th, 2007. How? It’s a short story…. Well, I was unable to sleep one night so started to do what I always do at that time: brainstorm and write various ideas in my cell phone drafts folder. One of those ideas was a blog about web browsers. There wasn’t any yet which covered all web browsers only. I’m proud about that.
It was a long and sometimes hard blogging road. I wouldn’t have done that without you. Thank you for reading this blog, for your feedback, for backlinks, for mails, for comments… Thank you for everything! Continue Reading
