Mozilla Foundation Is Being Audited By the IRS

Buried in the financial statements is the fact that the Mozilla Foundation is being audited by the IRS and its non-profit status is in question:
On the audit of the Foundation there has not been any formal notification of issues. There has been inquiry regarding its tax exemption. Management believes that it is conducting its operations in accordance with its original application for exemption and for which it received the advance ruling as a public benefit corporation. Mozilla Revenue Is $75 Million
Mozilla has published a revenue report for the year 2007.
Mozilla’s revenues for 2007 were $75 million, up 12% from 2006 revenue of $67 million.

As you can see, almost all revenue was generated from the search deals.

Mozilla Tries to Increase Firefox Retention Rate with a New Contest
Mozilla team launched a new contest for everyone who is interested in helping increase Firefox retention rate which is 25% so far (number of people who’ve downloaded Firefox and continue using it).
The contest will roll out in two phases. For the first one, due on October 24, participants must provide a 2-page executive summary of their project that should stay within a $10,000 budget. Mozilla will choose which proposals advance to the next phase, and participants will have until December 5 to submit detailed descriptions that will be presented to the community for final voting. Internet Explorer continues to lose market share, this time it felt by 0.63%, from 72.15% to 71.52%

As expected, Mozilla team has released a new Firefox version which fixes only 1 bug. The following bug caused users to have problems with password manager.
