In an interesting trend where quite a few apps have been unpublished from the Windows Phone store, it looks like Opera Mini is next. According to the latest report, the app is no longer available and no one knows why.
Opera Mini for Windows Phone was last updated back in December with an average rating of 2.5 stars, if you try to visit the download link it informs that “This app is no longer published”.

Two Windows Phone Browsers Updated
Surfy 5.3 and Opera Mini 0.9.0.6.
Today is a good day for those wanting to update their mobile web browser as recently not one but two companies have released new versions with some changes.
First in the list is Opera Mini, which (unfortunately) did not provide with any changelog.
Surfy on the other hand now includes Cortana (voice search) for Simplified Chinese, It also works with custom search engines so you can say something along the lines of “Surfy, search for YouTube kangaroo videos” and it will perform a YouTube video search.

Disaster Releases: Opera Mini For Windows Phone
Good news! Opera has released the Beta version of Opera Mini for the Windows Phone. However, hours after the 0.9 version hit the store (which was sluggish and with the user interface from the Windows Mobile 6.5), Norwegian browser maker made some tweaks and pushed 0.9.0.1. The bad news? It won’t open for quite a few people and is more unstable than the original build.
Ignoring a pretty bad port (yes, it’s Beta although we’d call it Alpha), we are not sure about the version number either, since in the “About” page it says version 7.6.8 yet in the store this number is completely different.

Beta to start shortly.
After the recent Microsoft and Opera partnership where Opera Mini became the default web browser in software giant’s non Windows Phones, it looks like we have another fruit of labor.
Today, both companies have announced the Beta program of Opera Mini for Windows Phone (signup here), which should begin in the coming day(s). Despite the fact that signup page already states that the test version is available, people are yet to receive download links.

– Watch HTML5 videos as it’s not supported
