Mozilla Ditches Plans To Display Ads In A New TabAt least for now.

Back in February, Mozilla has announced its plans to display ads Firefox’s New Tab Page, which, as you might have expected, did not go well with the community.

Now, it looks like the open source organization has come to senses and is ditching the idea, they said:

A lot of our community found the language hard to decipher, and worried that we were going to turn Firefox into a mess of logos sold to the highest bidder; without user control, without user benefit. That’s not going to happen. That’s not who we are at Mozilla.

However, this doesn’t meant that sponsored pages are not happening, in fact, Mozilla will continue experimenting with “useful sites” or as they said, “sponsorship would be the next stage once we are confident that we can deliver user value.”

So here you have it, folks.
