Firefox Finally Coming To iPhone & iPad

Firefox Finally Coming To iPhone & iPadThe months of declining Firefox market share might soon come to an end or at least a slow down, as according to Mozilla’s Release Manager, Lukas Blakk, has announced that after years of refusal, the open source organization is finally bringing Firefox to iOS.

He wrote, “We need to be where our users are so we’re going to get Firefox on iOS #mozlandia”

Why the sudden change? While we may never know all the possible reasons, one of the key elements could be a shift in Apple’s strategy itself, where the tech giant (since the WWDC 2014) announced the availability of WKWebView for all the developers:

One of the goals we had with this modern API was to take a lot of features that were previously only available to Safari and give you access to them. For example…the full power of the JavaScript Nitro engine.

Now the only question is: when? And for that, there is no answer yet.
