Check Hotmail in Safari 3 and 4

By | March 9, 2009

If you are a hardcore Hotmail and Safari user, then mail check issue is not a new thing for you. Fortunately, there’s a quick way to fix that.

Preferences > Show Menu Bar
Preferences > Advanced > Check “Show Develop menu in menu bar”

Once developer menu appears, go to:

Developer > User Agent and pick “Opera 9.63 – Windows”

This is it. Enjoy your browsing experience.

Ironic that Opera, which has been forced to masquerade as IE or Firefox for years, is now the User Agent of choice :)

  2. Susie says:

Unfortunately this hasn’t worked for me as a mac user. I’ve found that not one of the alternative user agents allows me to send an email. I’ve found that with Opera I can view emails and write a new email but not send it.

My experience is the same as Susie’s with Safari 4 Beta…i.e. I can view emails with Opera but not send. All is working fine with Firefox. Has anyone another suggestion?

    Hi!
I just left my Apple store and it appears that this new version of Safari does not
let us use our hotmail account. I suggest setting up a google (gmail) account or a yahoo account.
    Talk about frustrations!
