Now here is something you won’t see every single day. In an effort to stay relevant in the mobile space, it looks like Opera is open to all kinds of crazy ideas and one of them was just revealed. As learned by Pocket-lint, Norwegian browser maker has dropped their own rendering engine (codenamed Presto), which powers a wide range of products (Opera Mobile, Opera Desktop, Opera Mini, Opera Wii Browser and their TV Web Browser), in favor of WebKit, which since became a standard among developers.

Turns out to be pretty cool, actually.

Well, here is something warm and fuzzy for a cold autumn evening: a new promotional video from the Microsoft. While it fails to beat the stunning IE9 ad, it’s miles ahead of average web browser ads (with latest example being Opera’s horrible attempt to promote gears extensions). Focusing on the touch experience, the video material bashes iPad and various Android web browsers, claiming that they are not actually “touch optimized” and are somewhat laggy.

Google Launches The New ChromebookCosts only $249.

Prior the third quarter earnings announcement, $2.18 billion in profit vs. $2.73 billion a year ago, the search giant has revealed a new, ARM based Chromebook by Samsung.

According to a specs sheet, the following models has a dual-core A15-based Samsung Exynos 5 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display and 16GB of the built in storage. As far as other measurements go, it weighs 2.5 pounds and has a slim, 0.8 inch profile.
