Control Your Opera Web Browser Using Voice

By | October 10, 2007 | 1 Comment

Opera VoiceDaniel Goldman wrote a nice tip using PCMech.com video for the Opera users. You can control your web browser using Opera Voice. Basically I haven’t ever tried this feature but after seeing short video decided to do that. If you want to try it yourself, go the Opera Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Voice and check “Enable voice-controlled browsing”. It should download additional 10-11 megabytes now and you can start using it. Don’t forget to check Opera’s Voice video.

I’ve used it for a few minutes only but it’s still fun I guess. However, first thought that I will be able to type any URL using my voice but I couldn’t. Also haven’t found “Read Feeds” option. I guess this feature needs a small upgrade. Maybe not. Still checking tutorials for more details.

Opera 9.5, Is This A Bug (Part 2)?

    By | October 5, 2007 | 5 Comments

Opera 9.5Not so long time ago I’ve posted an article called “Opera 9.5, Is This A Bug Or A Feature?“.

Today I’ve found one more “possible bug”. When Opera 9.23 and Opera 9.5 Alpha is running and you are trying to launch “Opera 9.5 Alpha\opera.exe” it opens you a blank page (opera:blank) in Opera 9.23 and not Opera 9.5. Why?

    Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) Update

    By | October 5, 2007 | 4 Comments

Internet Explorer 7 IE7That should be some exciting news but there isn’t. I was actually expecting something more from Internet Explorer 7 update as it’s been ~1 year since IE7 was released. So when you get some news after 1 year “quiet” development you expect something new. Maybe that’s just me, you decide. Here’s Internet Explorer 7 Update changelog:

  • The menu bar is now visible by default.
  • The Internet Explorer 7 online tour has updated how-to’s. Also, the “first-run” experience includes a new overview.
  • We’ve included a new MSI installer that simplifies deployment for IT administrators in enterprises.
  • That’s all! Ok, now serious, what are the changes?

  • Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) check removed.
  • (Windows XP users). Will this change increase IE market share?

    Download Internet Explorer 7.
