Internet Explorer 8 — Microsoft’s latest release, currently at the Beta 2 stage — was declared to be the safest (aka more secure than Firefox 3.1 Beta and Chrome Beta) but the least popular browser, according to a browser security survey.

On Wednesday, Utest, a social-networking and software testing company, announced the results of its Bug Battle browser contest. How to Disable Safari Font Smoothing

Edt > Preferences
Open Appearance tab.

Find Font smoothing setting which should be set to Strong and make it “Standard – best for CRT” instead.

Google Chrome Released, 10 Million Users

According to Google Chrome blog, they have removed the beta label as their goals for stability and performance have been met. IE December Security Update

The IE Cumulative Security Update for December 2008 is now available via Windows Update.

This security update is rated Critical for Internet Explorer 5.01 and Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1, running on Microsoft Windows 2000; Internet Explorer 6 running on Windows XP; and Internet Explorer 7. For Internet Explorer 6 running on Windows Server 2003, this security update is rated Moderate. Beta versions of Internet Explorer are not vulnerable.
