1. Turn off Phishing Filter. This feature supposedly helps to prevent you from being tricked into accessing a rogue web site that is masquerading as a bona fide web site. I’ve found this feature to really slow down web access at times. Microsoft released a patch that supposedly fixes the problem, but my computer has the patch and I still notice this feature slowing down web access. New Apple Safari Vulnerability Discovered

Guy Brian has discovered a new Safari vulnerability which affects Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) users who haven’t changed default feed reader preferences.

This vulnerability allows phishing sites to silently read all the user data from hard drive without him knowing that.

Remove Opera Widgets Menu

Delete Opera Widgets MenuIf you want to delete/disable Opera’s widget menu, just follow these simple steps below:

Open “defaults” folder in Opera’s directory. For example:

C:\Program Files\Opera\defaults
C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera

Close Opera and open standard_menu.ini file with your favorite text editor. For example: Notepad

Find and delete the following entry:

Submenu, M_WIDGET_MENU, Browser Widgets Menu

Save, exit and this is it. Start Opera.

  • Delete private data : Go to Tools and click on Delete private data.Next click on details and check the all the boxes except Delete cookies and Clear all wand passwords.
  • Blocking flash images: Just right click on the flash image and block it for a particular web page but if you want to permanently switch off the flash view of that web site then go to Tools –> Preferences –>Advanced –> Blocked content

    Mozilla Drops Google in Firefox 3.1 and Tries Yandex

    It looks like Mozilla is trying some other players as well. As for now, Firefox default search engine for Russian language users will be Yandex instead of everyone’s beloved Google.

    Firebug 1.3 Released

    The final version of Firebug 1.3 has been released and can be downloaded via addons.mozilla.org

    The following version won’t work with Firefox 3.1. However, the upcoming Firebug 1.4 alpha release will fix that.
