Opera Mini Served 1 Billion Page Views per Day

Yesterday Opera Software has announced that on July 25, 2010, Opera Mini users have generated more than 1 billion page views.
Over the last few years, Opera Mini grew significantly, processing just about 100 million page views in June 2008, it now serves more than 910 million pages per day.
“Crossing one billion pages views in a day is further proof that people desire the best Internet experience, no matter where they live or what device they use.” said Jon von Tetzchner, the co-founder of Opera Software.

Opera Mobile 10.1 Labs for Maemo Released

As Opera Software prepares the next version of Opera Mobile, company has just announced the availability of version 10.1 Labs for Maemo devices.
The following release brings JIT support for JavaScript engine (which makes it the fastest JS Engine on Maemo platform), also GeoLocation and power management support as well as other features and improvements.
Please note: Labs releases contain a variety of well known and unknown issues, be sure to check them in the following page.
Hopefully, Windows Mobile version will be released shortly.
Opera Mini 5.1 Now Available

Opera Software has released a new stable version of Opera Mini web browser that is 5.1.
This updated is mostly targeted at low end devices that have a screen resolution lower than 200 pixels or low memory capacity (4 MB+-).
Basically, if your phone does not meet mentioned requirements, Opera Mini will automatically switch to a new skin that lowers memory footprint. Therefore, enhancing user experience and reducing a number of “out of memory” error messages.
In addition, Opera Mini team has also added a new a keypad shortcut that allows you switching from/to Mobile View (*0).
HTC HD2 “Unable to Initialize Camera” Error Fix

Now, if you are receiving “Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device” error on your HTC device (possibly any other Windows Mobile phone) and had no luck with soft reset, try the following:
Open task manager and make sure that Opera Mobile is not running, and close if it is. Now, I am not sure why it’s impossible to take pictures or record videos while you surf the net with Opera Mobile (as it makes very little sense), but here you have it, a quick and painless fix.
Windows Phone 7 to Feature Upgradeable Internet Explorer

With many mobile web browser choices floating around, Internet Explorer is certainly not one of them.
Furthermore, it is being upgraded only within new Windows Mobile release (and that does not happen very often).
However, things are about to change. One of the IE Mobile team members has revealed that Internet Explorer will receive updates independently of Windows Phone 7 itself. Read more
Opera Mobile 10 Comes to Maemo

Today Opera Software has released a preview build of Opera Mobile 10 for Nokia N900 and N800/N810 devices.
Just like Opera Mini or Opera Mobile for Windows/Symbian platforms, it supports Opera Turbo, bookmarks synch, tabbed browsing, speed dial and many more.
Furthermore, Nokia users received a unique opportunity to play with the new JavaScript engine called Carakan and Vega rendering library, as they are now a part of Opera Mobile 10 web browser for Maemo.
There are also some known issues, be sure to check them before downloading.

Zii EGG Tested With Opera

Even though the Zii EGG is not yet launched, the development kit has been delivered to some testing hands, and it uses Opera as default web browser.
Opera is shown in video, starting from 4:44 and ending at 6:44.
