September, 2012 Desktop Market Share: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera – Up; Google Chrome – Down

By | October 9, 2012

After publishing the market share report for the mobile web browsers, it’s time to reveal a real thing: desktop.

As we are weeks before the launch of the Windows 8, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer managed to increase its market share by 0.03 point, up from 53.60% to 53.63%.

Just like IE, Mozilla’s Firefox has also increased its market share by a 0.03 point, up from 20.05% to 20.08%.

It looks like all the other browser gains were a result of the Google’s Chrome market share loss, down from 19.13% to 18.86% (0.27 point decrease).

More iPhone sales means higher market share for Apple’s Safari, up from 5.10% to 5.26% (0.16 point increase).

Opera too saw a slight increase in its market share, up from 1.58% to 1.62% (0.04 point increase),

That’s all for now, folks.

Looks like you need to change the chart from mobile browsers to desktop browsers.
