Internet Explorer 9 Won’t Use Webkit

With all the rumors spreading around, Hachamovitch has confirmed to Ars that the next version of Internet Explorer (IE9) won’t use an open source engine called Webkit.

It was also stated that Internet Explorer 8 is not the last version of IE as some might thought.

Fennec Reaches Beta 1, Improves Performance, Enables Plug-Ins

The first beta version of Fennec (Firefox Mobile) has been released some time ago. During the Fennec Beta 1 development, team focused on performance and responsiveness improvements. New Firefox JavaScript engine which is called TraceMonkey is now a part of Fennec as well. As a result, browsing performance improved a lot.

Microsoft today announced the availability of Internet Explorer 8. The following release can be downloaded in 25 languages from IE8 home page at noon today (EDT).

Latest Microsoft web browser introduces features like web slices, instant search, inprivate browsing, automatic crash recovery and more as well as improved security and performance.

“He won a cash prize and got to keep the hardware. Details of the vulnerability, which was described by contest sponsor TippingPoint ZDI as a “brilliant IE8 bug!” are being kept under wraps.

“Nils” also scored a clean hit against Apple’s Safari (he was the second hacker to exploit Safari) and, later in the afternoon, he exploited a Firefox zero-day flaw to claim the trifecta.”

In case you are interested, Mac was hacked in 10 seconds.

New Google Chrome Beta – 25-35% Faster

Here is some great news from Google Chrome team. The latest Chrome beta release was just released and it’s 25% faster on V8 benchmark and 35% faster on SunSpider.

Of course, it also includes some of the new features, for example: form autofill, full page zoom, autoscroll and drag tabs (see video and benchmark results below).
