October, 2012 Mobile Market Share: Android Browser – Up; Safari, Opera – Down

By | November 2, 2012

Join us as we take a look at the latest market share numbers from October.

It looks like the new iPhone and continuous iPad sales did not have a huge impact on the market. In fact, the latest data shows that Safari lost 3.7 points of its share, down from 64.01% to 60.31%.

With a new line of Android tablets popping out, we are not surprised to see its browser market share increasing by as much as 5.01 points, up from 20.94% to 25.95%.

After a brief spike last time, it looks like Opera Mini continues its downtrend, from 9.55% to 8.24% (1.31 point decrease).

With the recent launch of Windows 8 and Surface for RT, we are eager to see how will it affect the market share data for the next month.

That’s all for now, folks.
