Mozilla Introduces New Channel Structure for Firefox

With the upcoming Firefox 5 release, Mozilla has introduced a new release structure for its web browser, designed to speed up the software development cycle.

As you might remember, Firefox used to have the following release channels:

Nightly Test Builds
Firefox Beta
Firefox Final Release

As of April, they were replaced with Nightly, Aurora, Beta and Final channels.

So What Is Aurora?

Essentially, it’s a slightly polished version of the nightly builds. As Mozilla explained, Aurora channel can be used to test latest feature and innovations but with increased stability and performance over the nightly builds.

Thanks, Blake!
