Mozilla Does Not Like Android & IOS

Mozilla Does Not Like Android & IOSBlackBerry and Windows Phone get no “love” at all.

Following the 10th birthday and search deal negotiations with Google, Mozilla is using the momentum to blast Google and Apple mobile operating systems for their lack of openness.

According to Mozilla’s chief technology officer, Andreas Gal, both dominant OS’es lack transparency as users are not informed on what happens with their data.

He said, “A choice between one phone where you can’t tell what goes on inside it and another phone where you can’t tell what goes on inside it” … “What an Android phone essentially is, it’s like Google’s agent in your pocket… they don’t intend to put you first, they put Google first because Google needs to increase their value. They’d like to know things about you and track you so they can target you. Google sets the rules that serve Google in the end, not necessarily the user.”

So what’s their suggestion? Use Firefox OS, of course, which (they hope) will change the situation for the better.
