May, 2015 Desktop Market Share: Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera – Up; Internet Explorer, Safari – Down

Here comes the desktop.

After revealing the browser market share numbers on mobile, it’s time to finish it off with a fresh set of desktop data from the Net Applications.

First and soon to be replaced, Internet Explorer is down by 0.68 point, from 55.83% to 55.15%.

After surpassing the 25% mark, Google Chrome continues to march forward, up by 0.69 point, from 25.68% to 26.37%.

What about Firefox? Surprisingly, it has managed to increase its market share by 0.18 point, from 11.70% to 11.88%.

Safari on the other hand is now below the 5% mark, down from 5.12% to 4.93% (0.19 point decrease).

Lastly, Opera, which is up again by 0.04 point, from 1.19% to 1.23%.
