May, 2014 Desktop Market Share: Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera – Up; Google Chrome, Firefox – Down

Time to do the desktop.

Recovering from a short downtrend, Internet Explorer is up again, this time by 0.29 point, from 57.88% to 58.17%.

Google Chrome on the other hand has experienced a small drop, from 17.92% to 17.73% (0.19 point decrease).

Next is Mozilla’s Firefox, which too lost some of its market share, down by 0.19 point, from 17.00% to 16.81%.

Just like IE, Apple’s Safari did too increase its user base by 0.06 point, from 5.66% to 5.72%.

Lastly, Opera, which saw an increase in the market share number after a really long downtrend, up from 1.14% to 1.16% (0.02 point increase).
