Internet Explorer 9 On Windows Phone 7 Mango

By | May 25, 2011

With yesterday’s Windows Phone Mango reveal, Microsoft has also detailed some of the upcoming Internet Explorer 9 features and changes.

According to Joe Belfiore, corporate vice president and director of Windows Phone Program Management, IE9 Mobile has the very same rendering engine that is also used in the PC version of Internet Explorer 9.

Thanks to hardware acceleration, Microsoft’s web browser easily beats its rivals (iPhone 4, BlackBerry Torch and Motorola Atrix) in various tasks (see example in the video).

What else is new?

The software giant has not yet revealed all the upcoming features of Windows Phone Mango but it is known that IE9 includes a slightly revamped UI, HTML5 support and various performance improvements.

Seems like Microsoft is behind HTML5 now…HTML 5 should bring more different UI experience in the Web. All the web developers should start using those.
