Firefox 22 To Improve Users Privacy

Will block third party cookies by default.

Firefox 22 To Improve Users PrivacyNow here is something that will make a lot of ad agencies mad and users happy. According to the latest report by Web Policy, starting with Firefox 22, it will block all third party cookies by default, which is what Safari did for quite some time now.

So what does that mean? Third party cookies will no longer work and you won’t be tracked, unless you have previously visited the original advertiser’s web site before that.

As far as Firefox 22 Final build goes, it is currently scheduled for the late June release.

[Thanks, Tibor]

I already delete all third party cookies (as I need some for comment systems to work – like Disqus for example) that I don’t need using Self-Destructing cookies anyways. Still, it’s good to see this being instituted by default.
