December, 2013 Desktop Market Share: Google Chrome – Up; Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera – Down

Kicking things of, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer saw its first decline in a long time, down from 58.36% to 57.91% (0.45 point decrease).

Firefox finished year without any surprises, down again, from 18.54% to 18.35% (0.19 point decrease).

Chrome on the other hand edged higher and reached 16.22%, up by 0.78 point from 15.44%, and was the only web browser to increase its market share during this time period.

Apple’s Safari lost 0.08 point, down from 5.90% to 5.82%.

Lastly, Opera, which keeps declining, down from 1.39% to 1.33% (0.06 point decrease).
