Alternative Windows Phone 7 Web Browsers? We Need Them

By | August 30, 2011

Dear Opera,

Please bring Opera Mobile with Opera Turbo to Windows Phone 7. Seriously, the only reason why I (and probably few other people) haven’t switched to WP7 is because of the lack of web page compression in IE9.

Thank you.

Signed, current and potential WP7 users.

Yes I would love to use Opera on my Omnia 7, I think it’s safe to develop a WP7 versions because of Nokia and Mango…

I have no WP7 and no interest on one, but after knowing now that it doesn’t even has alternative browsers, I want less a WP7

  6. WP7 is a great mobile platform – I got HTC HD7 myself including Mango installed, and I like the smoothness of the UI, but missing alternative browser is a big problem. Event IE9 mobile on Mango is pretty slow. Also I hate the thing with no saved form data and web state when using Back button :(

I would be one those who first installs the even Beta in my Windows Phone. Windows Phone is great platform, hopefully these hardware vendor releases that in better hardware.

They’ll have to make a new opera browser in C# and silverlight

I love my WP7 Dell Venue Pro. The OS is so stable, unlike Android, and the UI is not an iOS clone. Props to MS on developing this phone, but I too miss the Opera browser. At least I’ve got a truly unlimited data plan with mobilicity.
