Want to Win £20 000 with Opera?

Betavine, a Vodafone Group R&D lab, is offering developers a chance to win £20,000 in a mobile widget competition.

Developers are invited to create widgets for the Opera for Mobile 9.5 platform, which is included on Nokia 6210, Nokia N78, Nokia N95 8gb and Nokia N96 devices.

    @Salwa, you don’t have to be an Opera developer. You only need to know web development. Opera widgets are basically just open web standards packaged in a specific way.

    Yeah they are like Opera add-ons except there isnt as many so heres a way for mor to be created.

    They are NOT like Opera add-ons at all. They are widgets, which basically means open web standards packaged in a special way. W3C is standardizing widgets packaging too.

    On that same Betavine website they have a short description of what is a Mobile Widget, useful guide for people wanting to know more.

    Also they are offering developers a chance to publish their Widgets to a wider audience (developers retain the IPR in the above competition).
