SK Telecom Selects Opera Mini

Oslo, Norway – May 6, 2009 – Opera Software today announced that it has signed an agreement with SK Telecom, the leading mobile operator in Korea. Under the terms of the agreement, SK Telecom will deploy a customized version of the Opera Mini mobile browser.
SK Telecom is Korea’s leading telecoms provider, with over 23 million mobile subscribers. Since its establishment in 1984, SK Telecom has grown into a major player in the global information communications industry. SK Telecom is reaching out beyond Korea into markets such as the U.S. and Asia.
The agreement between Opera Software and SK Telecom includes license, development, support & maintenance and server-hosting fees.
Opera Software Signs Deal with Virgin Mobile USA
Opera Software has announced that they’ve signed an agreement with Virgin Mobile USA to bundle Opera Mini 4.2 with Virgin Mobile phones.

Opera Mini and Parental Control
Yesterday Opera Software and BrightCloud, Inc. have announced a partnership which would increase security as well as allow web operators to filter content viewed by Opera Mini users.
As press release explains:
With this technology, operators across the globe will be able to implement parental control mechanisms, block access to adult content or other sites, block services that are deemed inappropriate, and add in an extra level of security, especially for enterprise networks.
