According to the recent post, new features of 1.2 are:

• The way calculation of encryption keys is performed is made more dynamic, and new ciphersuites (set of encryption methods used by a connection) can define their own method, rather than having only the default one. This was necessary because some suites, such as a russian one, could not be used with the default method.
• The default digest method is now SHA-256, offering stronger security.
• Several new cipher suites (using existing encryption methods) also use SHA-256.
• It has better ways to negotiate what signature algorithms the client supports.

Although there is no official release date yet, leaked information reveals that Opera 10 Final will be probably released as early as September, 2009.

According to the message, Opera 10 Beta should hit the streets on April while final release is set to be released on September.

New interface: redesigned skin.
New rendering engine: more performance, less compatibility issues, stability.

Custom search engines and typed history* are now joining bookmarks, speed dials, personal bar, and notes in Opera Link.

* Typed history is only the history you explicitly type or select from the address bar

Feed Preview
Now you can preview an RSS/Atom feed before subscribing.

Opera Mail: Low Bandwidth Mode
Low Bandwidth Mode is a setting on mail accounts that makes Opera Mail use as little bandwidth as possible. For IMAP, this means that Opera will only synchronize new messages and it will not fetch message attachments unless requested. For POP, Opera will not fetch more than the first 100 lines of a message unless requested.

Opera Mail: Follow/Ignore threads and contacts
Follow and Ignore are new features for users that receive a lot of messages. It makes it easier to dismiss unimportant messages and easier to recognize important messages.

Opera Mail: Go To Thread
You can now also “Go to thread” which means that you can view only the messages from that thread. Useful for those that uses flat view.
