Chrome 3.0.195.24 ReleasedGoogle has released a new stable build of it’s Chrome web browser. The following version patches high risk security vulnerability, which was discovered by Maksymilian Arciemowicz of SecurityReason.

Changelog:

CVE-2009-0689 dtoa() error parsing long floating point numbers
The v8 engine uses a common dtoa() implementation to parse strings into floating point numbers. We have applied a patch to fix a recent bug in this component.

Google Chrome Extensions: Ready? Set. Go!Good news, as of September 9th, all the upcoming Google Chrome dev builds will have extensions support enabled by default.

In previous releases, it was possible to use Chrome extensions, however, it required additional changes as it was disabled by default.

Although there aren’t lots of extensions yet, it should quickly change as Google prepares stable release with the following feature turned on.

Sony to Offer Chrome Web Browser on Their PCs

Sony to Offer Chrome Web Browser on Their PCsGoogle and Sony have signed a deal which states that Chrome web browser will be pre-installed on Sony PCs. Unfortunately companies have not revealed any financial or specific model details.

According to IDC research, consumer electronics giant Sony is not in the top 5 PC vendors by worldwide shipping as per Q2 2009.

Calling this partnership experimental, Google is looking forward to sign similar deals with other PC makers as well.

Update: Financial Times reports that Chrome will be per-installed on Sony’s Vaio computer series.
