Browsers Memory BattleThere is an article in ComputerWorld.com called “Firefox 3.0 wins memory battle, says tester“. Sam Allen was testing Firefox, Internet Explorer (IE), Flock, Opera and Safari web browsers to see who wins in the memory management. “Test” is quite funny. There are no graphs at all and basically nothing… I guess this is what quality article is all about.

Safari 3.1.2Safari 3.1.2 for Windows was just released which fixes few security issues.

Viewing a maliciously crafted BMP or GIF image may lead to information disclosure
Saving untrusted files to the Windows desktop may lead to the execution of arbitrary code
Visiting a malicious website which is in a trusted Internet Explorer zone may lead to the automatic execution of arbitrary code
Visiting a maliciously crafted website may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution

It’s always recommended to use the latest stable version of any web browser, especially when we are talking about security updates.

The 100 Best Products of 2008Few days ago PC World revealed its “The 100 Best Products of 2008” list. The social web browser Flock was voted in the highest position among any other web browsers. It took a solid 6th place. Mozilla Firefox 3 was in the 21st place followed by Apple Safari which was in the 22nd. Hulu (online video service) was voted as #1.

Yet another bad month for Microsoft Internet Explorer, this time its market share decreased by 0.08%, from 74.88% to 74.80%.

How I Violated Apple’s Software License Agreement

Apparently I did that after installing Safari on my Windows machine as Apple’s Software License Agreement says:

“2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. A. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time.”
