Microsoft's Agency: Write About Internet Explorer, Receive Dubbed as “Rethink IE program”.

It appears like Microsoft’s marketing efforts got bit too extreme. Thanks to the recently published email by Uncrunched that they have received, we have learned that the software giant’s hired agency is contacting the media, asking them to write about the Internet Explorer.

How is this a bad thing? Well, it’s not about just writing about the IE since journalists are offered “compensations” or even prizes to do so aka “sponsored posts”.

On a positive note, upon learning about the program, Microsoft has suspended it and issued the following statement, “This action by a vendor is not representative of the way Microsoft works with bloggers or other members of the media. The program has been suspended.”

Time to try something else.

Microsoft did the same thing on youtube through the Machinima network, compensation for those who said nice things about the Xbox One… They’re losing market share and relevance daily and they know it, I’m sure they’ll resort to everything short of murder to stay afloat.

Journalists are best left impartial. Too many “articles” nowadays that are just sponsored linkbait :/
