March, 2012: Internet Explorer’s Share Up; Everyone’s Else – Down

By | April 2, 2012

Although there were no mind blowing browser releases last month, it does not mean that the user base will remain the same and as the title says, it’s all about Microsoft this time.

Whether it’s a result of clever ads or Windows 8 Consumer Preview, Internet Explorer has regained 0.9 point of its market share, up from 48.92% to 49.82%.

As far as Firefox goes, nothing new to see here, just the usual downtrend, this time its market share has decreased by 0.35 point, down from 19.35% to 19.00%.

Following Firefox, Google’s Chrome never ending uptrend days are over, in March its market share has fallen by 0.31 point, down from 17.48% to 17.17%.

Just as the title says, Safari’s market share has also had a small decline, down from 9.28% to 9.09% or 0.19 point decrease.

As finally, Opera, which continues to struggle, down from 1.60% to 1.51% or 0.09 point decrease.

That’s all for now, folks.

Internet Explorer has been going up since January. :( Yes, IE9 is good, but not better than the competition, and IE8, IE7, and IE6 are still around…
