Internet Explorer 9 Surpasses 20 Million Downloads MarkRC coming in early 2011.

With the continuous web browser advertisements all over the web, Microsoft has announced that since the launch of Internet Explorer 9 Beta on the 15th of September, it has already been downloaded more than 20 million times.

Furthermore, according to the report, IE9 is already used by 0.46% of Internet users worldwide.

    Agreed, IE is the worst browser, but I wish all IE users would at least upgrade to IE8 or IE9 — it would make web developers’ jobs a lot easier.
    IE9 looks like it will be the best version yet — for what it’s worth.
    I wish they weren’t keeping it from WinXP users — because there are a LOT of them, and WILL BE a lot of them for some time.

    Looks like we’ll be dealing with IE8 in 2016. Don’t laugh — that would be awful. Try running one of the HTML5 tests on IE8 and see how it scores. That’s going to be a pain in our side just like IE6 is today!

      xp ist jetzt 10 jahre alt (ok, nicht ganz, aber bald).

      Alle XP-Rechner welche ich kenne sind solche, welche ihre gute Zeit schon lange lange hinter sich haben und eigentlich auf ne Formatierung oder besser eine Verschrottung warten (so man mehr als nur nen Browser für Onlinebanking drauf nutzen will).

      ich glaube daher, dass in der westlichen Welt der Anteil der XP-Rechner in den nächsten 2-3 Jahren sehr stark sinken wird. windows 8 wird dem noch einen zusätzlichen Schub versetzen (so es nicht wieder ein Reinfall wird wie vista).
      Windows 8 wird IE9 per standard haben und die win7 Nutzer werden wohl zum allergrößten Teil begeistert updaten. ich traue mich auf einen IE-Anteil von unter 10% pre IE9-Versionen (bei summe(ie) = 100%) wetten mit Stichtag 1.1. 2013.
      2016 wird sich niemand mehr um IE8 kümmern. genauso wenig wie sich heute noch jemand um IE6 kümmert (Anteil mittlerweile irgendwo bei 5% und sinkend?).
