Although I won’t be using IE8 as my day-to-day browser one of the features I’m really looking forward to is the standards.

A lot of people are complaining that IE8 is as bad as previous browser. After trying the betas and RCs I strongly disagree. Yes, it doesn’t support all the standards the others does(CSS3 for instance), BUT it does -finally- support the “old” standards(CSS 2.1 and HTML4) properly and without too many annoying bugs. (Actually, I haven’t found any bugs yet!)

I really hope people who are set on using IE(and let’s face it, there are!) upgrade straight to this one(from 6 if they are using that). I hear Microsoft has worked hard to make sure it has a IE6 compatibility mode. I know a lot of people are against this, but get this: if it supports IE6-sites then people who are dependent on IE6-code(and can’t upgrade for various reasons) can upgrade to IE8 benefit on standards on modern sites, while still using their old shitty IE6-only Intranet.
