Google Chrome and Safari Gains. Firefox, Opera, IE Loses (September 08)

2008 August Browsers Market Share ResultsAfter the recent Google Chrome launch it’s time to check new web browsers market share data.

Internet Explorer continues to lose market share, this time it felt by 0.63%, from 72.15% to 71.52%

Firefox lost some market share as well; it felt from 19.73% to 19.46% (0.27% decrease).

This month Safari managed to increase its market share by 0.28%, from 6.37% to 6.65%

Chrome took a massive hit and jumped from 0% to 0.78% in the graph.

As well as Firefox and IE, Opera also lost some market share, it felt from 0.74% to 0.69% (0.05% decrease)

It’s the 6th month in the row and Opera Mini market share remains the same – 0.05%

    I still don’t get it how people use Google chrome as their main browser… It’s just so buggy and heavy and lacks so many features… Like RSS feeds…

    Are they counting multiple browsers for every user? If so, it might just be people trying out chrome on the side rather than using it as their main browser.
