German Government Recommends Google Chrome

German Government Recommends Google ChromeDas ist gut.

BSI (Bundesamt fuer Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik), Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security, which has a habit of issuing software recommendations, has picked Google Chrome as the most secure web browser.

Complimenting various Chrome’s features, such as: silent update (which also updates Adobe Flash Player), BSI officials also stated that other web browsers are behind in this area, “This sandbox protection is implemented most consistently in Chrome…and similar mechanisms in other browsers are currently either weaker or non-existent”

Google Chrome on the other hand was “particularly honored” after such recommendation and were happy that their efforts for secure web browsing experience were recognized by such institution.

Whoa, they used to recommend Firefox as far as I know. D:

Do google still keep track of our surfing habits?

    • Saex Conroy says:

       they sure do

google chrome is the most insecure browser – just look at it – most of the software you install tries to convince you also need to install google chrome:

ccleaner, skype… ive had google chrome advertised in those installations

just look at firefox – it was never advertised and it still has a descent market share

firefox is like linux – its pretty descent and they arent forcing it on anyone
while google chrome is a forced browser – like in the installers mentioned above – stupid people click NEXT NEXT NEXT and when they install their software they also see some colorful icon saying “google chrome”, they open it up and “WHOAAAAAAA” its better than that BLUE “e” i used to use to see “DA INTARNET”

google chrome is a FORCED browser, just like internet explorer is, its market share isnt as genuine as that of firefox

firefox is the most secure browser and the developers have the most innocent intentions towards the users – they dont make you use it – if you discover it, only then you will be using it.. or if a friend introduces you to it

      simple as that

google chrome is a piece of fucking crap, just like internet explorer and safari

        copied this from Firefox’s Wiki
“The rapid adoption of Firefox, 100 million downloads in its first year of availability, followed a series of aggressive marketing campaigns starting in 2004 with a series of events Blake Ross and Asa Dotzler called “marketing weeks”

And don’t forget Google’s heavy promoting of Firefox  before they launched Chrome.

i didnt knew that, because i wasnt active on the internet then, i wasnt paying much attention to stuff different than computer games, i as a kid back then and i dont know what kind of adverts they used.. tv? or internet adverts. i dont live in the usa to know those

          • Mikah says:

That’s the thing about the Internet you don’t have to live somewhere to know what’s happening.

Chrome’s not my favourite browser Opera is but I tend to use Chrome slightly more than Firefox as my alternative browser lately.
Google  provide most of Firefox’s income , the world’s best search engine as well as countless other services.

You might not be a kid any more but when you post rubbish like
“google chrome is a piece of fucking crap, just like internet explorer and safari”   Its obvious that you still have a lot more growing up to do.

        Please. Firefox like linux.

        Ahaha.

If they were they wouldnt be licking the balls that are google.

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, it does track you. If they collect enough information through the browser and their Google sites to serve ads targeted at your interests, then who knows how they could be misusing the information they collect about you. I only use Chrome for offline localhost testing. I try to keep it closed whenever I’m connected. It gives me the creeps.

I thought that as long as I had all of the googlechrome.exe processes closed, I was safe. But then I found out that they also install a browser plugin called Google Update. So they’ve squirmed their way into Opera too! That plugin didn’t stay enabled long. If it only checked for Chrome updates, then I’d be fine with it. But there is nothing saying they couldn’t be tracking my browsing with that plugin too.

I might sound very paranoid, but IMO, better safe than sorry!

        WTH

      • Mikah says:

Really annoying having to disable Google update every time you install Chrome why on earth does it need to run all the time , the time to check for updates is when the browser is opened.
I don’t think the Google updater is connected to Opera though unless you’ve installed the Google toolbar or maybe an extension that uses one of Googles services.

I wish tht stupid German Recommendor gets hacked by someone so that he awards chrome as the shitiest security hole… lol

  4. Anonymous says:

Ofcourse they recommend it. You know with the spying and back doors its festers.

  5. Max Renn says:

Of course governments would love to recommend some tool they could collude with the maker of to spy on us and our habits. Why wouldn’t they?
