Flash Player 10.1, Now with Multi Touch SupportYesterday, Adobe has unveiled the next release version of their Flash Player software: 10.1 Beta.

Adobe Flash Player 10.1 not only includes various bug fixes and enchantments, but also a bunch of new features:

Flash Player 10.1 is the first runtime release of the Open Screen Project that enables uncompromised Web browsing of expressive applications, content and video across devices.

Support for new platforms
Flash Player 10.1 will be available for a broad range of mobile devices, including smartphones, netbooks and other Internet-connected devices.

Designed for mobility
This work includes performance improvements, such as rendering, scripting, memory, start-up time, battery and CPU optimizations, in addition to hardware acceleration of graphics and video. Improvements in memory utilization and management, start-up time, CPU usage, and rendering/scripting performance benefit PCs as well as mobile devices.

    it seems that recent silverlight development made adobe work harder than usual (not at all few years ago)

    HD video decoding is one of such things, i hope that ms will raise a bar even more, it is always good to have a competition, and silverlight is currently better than flash in technical aspects. unfortunatelly, not widespread enough
