A beta for opera mobile on Android is apparantly ready and will be shown at MWC in Barcelona.
Also, they are going to show a beta of opera mini for Iphone :) .

Hope they release a public version soon.

Mozilla is not on Android. It is still Maemo only.

Android already has a superior browser engine to Gecko: WebKit

Who needs Gecko bloat when they have WebKit excellence? You can even get different UIs for the Android browsers, like the Dolphin browser.

Mozilla isn’t on Android. They are “working on it”, just like they were “working on” Minimo six years ago for Windows Mobile. LOL.

symbian? no

winMo? not yet, but unless MS does something great, this system is dead

iphone? no, apple wont let anyone

android? yes, oh yes babe. this thing grows.

so maybe this is why they’ve concentrated on the most important system.

feature phones, non-touch, with 100*100 resolution are not important, albeit numerous. smartphones, or normal phones, are. these phones generate massive data traffic, these are most important for both operaors and content providers.

and this is why mozilla is on android, and opera only talks about it.

not that this matters anyway, as webkit will remove both opera and firefox from mobiles in a year or two. google and apple will see to that.

Thanks, but I’ll stick to WebKit browsers on mobile.

And after all these years of false starts, denial, and fruitless attempts, all they can manage to do is to release a version for a single phone? Color me unimpressed.
