February, 2014 Desktop Market Share: Google Chrome – Up; Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera – Down

By | March 7, 2014

It looks like February is pretty much identical to January, at least in terms of growth.

Somewhat consolidating, Internet Explorer has lost a tiny fraction of market share, down from 58.21% to 58.19% (0.02 point decrease).

The only browser that managed to increase its market share this (and last) month, Google Chrome, up from 16.35% to 16.84% (0.49 point increase).

Mozilla’s browser is still in the downtrend, this time Firefox’s market share decreased from 18.02% to 17.68% (0.34 point decrease).

Apple’s Safari browser has experienced a small drop in its market share numbers, from 5.78% to 5.67% (0.11 point decrease).

No surprises with Opera either, down from 1.28% to 1.23% (0.05 point decrease).

That’s all for now, folks.

And the Margin of error is ? my guess between 10% & 20% several browser statistic companies have Chrome way out in front.

The stats from anywhere are going to be wrong, but they do a good job of showing trends. So, forget about who’s in the lead. You can see that IE is doing a decent job of getting users back. Chrome and Safari are stagnant. Firefox is losing users. And Opera barely belongs on the list anymore, which is a shame because I love Opera (or at least I did until they moved to webkit or whatever…)
