By | February 26, 2008 | 3 Comments

Opera DragonflyDavid Storey from Opera team recently blogged about something called “Opera Dragonfly”. While no one knows what it is, Opera team keeps teasing everyone (like they always do). Here’s a quote from David Storey blog post:

So what exactly is Opera Dragonfly? I won’t say quite yet, but I do think that, in my opinion, it is the most important project we have on going at the moment, and probably since I’ve been at the company. It won’t directly affect everybody, but will hopefully become invaluable for those that it does. We’ll likely have more to say about it at SxSW in Austin Texas.

So what happens when you have low market share? They “accidentally” forget you.

Of course, you can click “Continue to MSN Video” and continue surfing, at least they allow you to do that.

Mozilla 1.0
Mozilla 1.1
Mozilla 1.2
Mozilla 1.3
Mozilla 1.4
Mozilla 1.5
Mozilla 1.6

If you are developing a web site, you should already know that the more web browsers renders it correctly, better it is for you and your visitors.

I would like to suggest a tool/site called BrowserShots.org.

If you don’t want to install every web browser in your computer, buy Mac and/or PC this site will help you a lot.

So what does it do? It takes a screenshot of your web and shows how each web browser renderds it. You can select screen resolution, color depth, JavaScript, Java, Macromedia Flash, media plugins and web browsers which includes:

Mac:

  • Firefox 2.0
  • Safari 1.3
  • Safari 2.0
  • Safari 3.0

Linux:

  • Firefox 2.0
  • Iceweasel 2.0
  • Konqueror 3.5
  • Opera 9.21

Windows:

  • Firefox 1.5
  • Firefox 2.0
  • MSIE 5.0
  • MSIE 5.5
  • MSIE 6.0
  • MSIE 7.0

I hope this will help you to develope web browsers friendly web pages. Good luck.

I’ve checked FavBrowser.com and after removed YouTube video (which cause some problems with Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Linux), seems that it renders correctly in every web browser.

Now you can make web browser friendly pages. Good Luck.
