Google Chrome To Receive Multiple Profiles Feature
Good news, the future Google Chrome release will receive a feature that some people wanted for ages: multi-profiles.
According to the Revision 91573 post at chromium.org (which was spotted by one of our readers, Shane Bundy), when creating a new profile, not only will the user be able to name it (obviously) but also assign a different icon for every single one of them.
If you are curious enough to try this feature now, it already available in the latest version of Chromium.
Opera Working To Fix Facebook Video Calling
Facebook unveiled its new video calling feature this week right after Google+ came out and boasted with Hangouts (video chats with up to ten people). Unfortunately, Opera is not supported by Facebook for this feature at present. An Opera employee had the following to say about the matter:
The reason for Facebook’s block seems to be a problem with our version of Opera on OS X. Facebook’s plug-in installs itself as FacebookVideoCalling.webplugin on Mac, but our browser only recognises plug-ins with a .plugin extension. This causes their plug-in detection scripts to think the installation failed, triggering a renewed installation process. Our fearless engineers are working to fix this issue in Opera code as soon as possible, and we’re also in talks with Facebook to find a quick resolution to the problem. – Patrick H. Firefox 5 Update To Fix Mac OS X Crash Bug
Firefox 5.0.1 will arrive shortly going by an announcement made by Mozilla. No release date was given, however. The update isn’t for Windows or Linux operating systems either, just for Mac OS X. This is because Lion i.e. Mac OS X 10.7 possesses a bug that makes Firefox 5 crash when showing websites that utilize downloadable fonts.
We alerted Apple to the problem before the release of 10.7 but they did not fix the problem before 10.7 went to final release. We’ve changed the font APIs that we’re using to newer versions which appear to fix the problem. The bug in Lion will cause severe crash problems for Firefox 5 users if it’s not fixed. – Christopher Blizzard, Mozilla’s Web platform director
Download Opera 12 Pre-Alpha
Just a week after releasing the final version of Opera 11.50, here comes the pre-alpha build of Opera’s next generation web browser: Opera 12 (codenamed “Wahoo”).
Although it has no new features or major improvements over Opera 11.50, the following version fixes nearly 40 bugs, which is always a good thing.
Anyway, while we wait… What are some of the major features you would like to see in Opera 12 and is hardware acceleration one of them?

Firefox 7 Might Solve Memory Fragmentation Issues
According to the discussion participants at Bugzilla.Mozilla.org, Firefox 7 might include a patch to solve at least some of the memory bloat issues.

Opera 11.50 Release Candidate Now Available
Opera 11.50 is just about ready to replace Opera 11.11 as the former is now in the release candidate stage. Available for download for Windows, Mac, or Linux from the Opera Next page, one can download it now without overwriting their current, stable Opera installation as Opera Next installs itself in a separate directory.
As previously reported, Opera 11.50 will be launching with a sleeker look, ditching brightly colored menu and status bar icons for a more refined look boasting more subtle tones. New aesthetics are not the only change that Opera 11.50 will bring along, though, as the Speed Dial page has been improved along with increased support for modern web technologies such as CSS3 and HTML5 and easy plug in installation.

No More Security Updates For Firefox 4
Along with the release of Firefox 5 on Tuesday, Mozilla showed off the vulnerabilities that had been patched in that version of Firefox as well as in 2010’s Firefox 3.6, making no mention of any bugs fixed in Firefox 4, however. The reason for this is that Firefox 4 has reached its EOL, short for End of Life, with regard to vulnerability patches according to Mozilla.

Coming Soon: Real Time Chat In Google Chrome
Opera is a supporter of WebRTC as well.
Following Microsoft’s acquisition of Skype, it looks like the search giant has video chat plans of its own.
Turns out, Google is integrating its WebRTC software into the Google Chrome web browser, which will allow users to talk in real-time without having to install Skype or similar chat clients.

ICANN Votes For New Web Domain Suffixes
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has voted in favor of severely enlarging the number of acceptable domain name suffixes to a number considerably above the current number of 22. Government bodies, cities, companies, or even individuals will now be able to apply for any ending they desire, in any language they want.
