Hey, it’s that time of the month again as we kick off the week with the new data from the NetApplications.
Starting with the Internet Explorer, it looks like Microsoft’s market share is slowly edging higher, up from 53.63% to 54.13 (0.5 point increase).

It looks like the new iPhone and continuous iPad sales did not have a huge impact on the market. In fact, the latest data shows that Safari lost 3.7 points of its share, down from 64.01% to 60.31%.
When it comes to the socially engineered malware, it looks like Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is the only web browser that manages to fight it well.
According to the latest study by NSS Labs, IE10 running on the Windows 8 protected test systems against 99.1% of all the malicious web pages, followed by Google’s Chrome 70.4% mark.
However, when it came to Firefox and Safari, the block rates were incredibly low, 4.2% and 4.3% respectively.

After publishing the market share report for the mobile web browsers, it’s time to reveal a real thing: desktop.
As we are weeks before the launch of the Windows 8, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer managed to increase its market share by 0.03 point, up from 53.60% to 53.63%.

After continuously gaining market share for quite some time, Apple’s Safari took a small dip and is now sitting at the 64.01% market share, down from 66.43% to 64.01% (2.42 point decrease).
Following the release of the Safari 6 web browser, which targets only Apple’s own operating system, the browser ballot screen has been updated as well.
As it turns out, Maxthon has since replaced Safari and now appears in the top 5 list.
On a related note, Windows 8 browser ballot screen has just arrived via Windows Update.
As promised last month, here comes a new segment and this time it’s for the mobile web browsers only.
Starting with the leader in the pack, Apple’s Safari continues its trend to the 70% mark, thanks to the iPhone and iPad sales, up from 66.22% to 66.43% (0.21 point increase).
