Firefox to Track User Data?
How does it sound? I’ll start with a quote from John’s Blog which should explain everything:
So we asked ourselves what we can do to help unlock some of this latent potential — and started thinking about whether there’s a project we can do at Mozilla that does a few things:
Collects & shares data in a way that embodies the user control & privacy options which are at Mozilla’s core.
Enables everyone — from individual researchers and entrepreneurs (both the social and capitalist types) to the largest organizations in the world — to take usage data, mix it up, mash it up, derive insight, and hopefully share some of that insight with others.
Helps move the conversation around data collection and web usage forward, to help consumers make more informed decisions. It seems obvious to us that there’s lots to be done here, and lots that we can do, if we can work with our broad community to figure it out.
Mozilla Turns 10 Years Old
Happy Birthday Mozilla! Wish you all the best for your current and upcoming projects.
March 31, 1998 is the date that Mozilla was officially launched.
Prism Update
Some time ago, Mozilla Labs released a new version of Prism. If you haven’t heard about it yet, Prism is an open source cross-platform prototype of functionality that lets users split web applications out of the browser and run them directly on the desktop. New Prism version now has new desktop integration capabilities and simpler installation. All you have to do now is download Prism add-on. Continue Reading
Firefox Add-Ons Page Upcoming Design (Review)
It looks like Mozilla team is making more changes before the upcoming Firefox 3 release. This time they are working on new addons.mozilla.org web page design. While it’s still under development, I’ve found pretty much things which I didn’t like at all. Since I’m designer myself, here are the things which I didn’t like: Continue Reading

Mozilla Receives a New CEO
Yes, I bet you’ve already heard that.
Here’s a great quote from Mitchell’s blog post:
Once I allowed myself to think about this I realized that John will be a better CEO for the MoCo going forward than I would be. I’m sure that I was the right person for this role during the first years of MoCo; I’m equally sure that John is the best person for this role in the future.
As a result I’ve asked John to take on the role of CEO of the Mozilla Corporation, and John has agreed.
First Look at New Firefox Product Page Design
With the upcoming Firefox 3 release, Mozilla team is currently working on a new Mozilla.org web page look. Its landing page should be finished somewhere in December, as for now, here’s a first look to Firefox product page on which they are still working.

Camino Now Accepting Donations
Camino web browser development team recently announced that from now they will be accepting donations. And here’s the most interesting part of it:
Through the end of the year the Mozilla Foundation will match 2 to 1 every dollar donated (up to $10,000). Donating now makes your dollar go three times as far as it normally would.
What is Camino?
Camino is an open-source web browser developed by an all-volunteer team. While most web browsers are funded through search revenues, Camino is supported by volunteer efforts, gifts of kindness from contributors, and donations from users.
Donate to Camino.

Mozilla Corp – Non Profit Organization?
Some time ago I’ve posted about Mozilla’s Finances for the year 2007. It seems that “The New York Times” got something to say about Mozilla Corporation and Google as well.

Mozilla Finances, Year 2006
Year 2006 was great to Mozilla, not so long time ago they have released their financial statements for 2006 and results says everything.
They have reported a total of $66.8 million revenue for the year 2006 which is more than 25% increase from the year 2005. Most of its revenue is from Google Search of course.
As we can see from this picture, Mozilla’s earnings depends on Google a lot. What if there would be no Google search partnership program?
