Firefox For Windows 8 UI Delayed
In case you are using a touch based web browser, then we have some good and bad news for you. The good news: Internet Explorer 11 is coming with Windows 8.1 (which is free). The bad news? It looks like Mozilla has postponed the launch of Firefox for Metro UI until late January, 2014.
However, there are more good news at the end of the tunnel. Even though the final Windows 8 version is not coming anytime soon, Firefox 26 will include a “Preview Release”, which should work just fine.

Google Chrome For iOS Updated

After numerous Chrome updates for Android, here comes one for your iPhone and iPad. Thankfully, it isn’t just some minor update and actually includes some useful features.
When you searching for something, click on one of the links and hit back, the results page will now appear instantly. In addition to that, you can now ask follow up questions using voice search, for example: if you ask Google “Who is the president of the United States?” you can say “Who is his wife?” next and it will know what you meant.

Internet Explorer 11 To Load JPG Images Up To 45% Faster
If you’re getting tired of seeing same old JavaScript performance improvements that are now as relevant as Britney Spears, then Microsoft’s latest post about rendering enhancements in the Internet Explorer 11 might cheer you up.
According to IEBlog, Windows 8.1 Apps as well as IE11 will use GPU power to process data, resulting in up to 45% faster image load and 40% lower memory consumption. And yes, when it comes to rendering, we are talking milliseconds here.

Maxthon To Be Pre-Installed In 100 Million Smartphones
Tablets to come with Maxthon Browser pre-loaded as well.
It looks like Maxthon has scored a pretty major deal with MediaTek, the third largest supplier of chipsets used in Android smartphones and tablets. According to the press release, Maxthon will be preloaded in over 100 million smartphones in 2014 and an unknown amount of tablets.
These pre-installs won’t come just from some unknown OEMs as MediaTek is supplying goods for companies like LG and ZTE.

Google Reveals A Next Generation Of Chrome Apps
Calls it “a new breed”.
It looks like Google has been cooking something special for its 5th birthday and no, it’s not a cake. Turns out, the search giant has been working on a next generation of Chrome apps that are set to rival those of Windows and Mac.
Not only will they work offline but those apps behave like any native app on other operating systems, meaning that they can access pretty much any part of your computer hardware, including storage, ports and Bluetooth connection.
